Swisscom TV2.0 launched

ipAppMedia, a long term partner in IPTV development for Swisscom, today announced that it has successfully launched new advanced client application based on Android OS to receive the IPTV services of Swisscom in Switzerland.

The new client platform will bring a wide range of content: The Service, exclusive for Swiss residents only, contains more than 250 channels of linear TV, VOD and 7 days full catch-up TV services including HD channels to homes by Swisscom. Swisscom is so one of the first leading telecom operators worldwide to propose a first screen based on Android OS. The set top box, providing substantial and robust computing power which enables very smooth and enormously fast functional operation and big memory configuration, enables up to 1000 hours of cloud based recording and time-shift feature. The platform is based on Android OS introducing flexibility and freedom of Android application availability, including an AppStore by Opera and a Bluetooth remote control. End users enjoy the best viewing experience with superior picture quality with the flexibility of ultra-fast Wi-Fi or ethernet connection.
